Minar e Pakistan was built to memorize the amazing day when Pakistan’s Resolution was passed, which further resulted in the emergence of this homely land. For centuries, it will be a center of the great sentiment of people.
Design and Structure:
This tower was built between 1960 to 68 under the supervision of Murat Khan. The tower is inspired by the Mughal and Islamic cultures.
The amount used for its construction is counted to be 7 million which had come as a result of the additional tax on cinema and horse racing tickets.
This seminar is also having an elevator for the old and needy. The base is about 8 m high, having a tower of 62 m standing on the base. Its diameter is about 9 m.
The humble building symbolizing the great struggle and effort was made of uncut stones of Taxila.
There is the inscribed text relating Lahore Resolution and also the Delhi Resolution in Urdu, English, and Bengali. The beautiful verses of the Holy Quran and the names of Allah All-Powerful are seen on various plaques.
The other important inscriptions include quotes of Mohammad Ali Jinnah, some couplets of Allama Iqbal, and also our National Anthem.
